Warblers Are Here!

Warblers started showing up in large numbers in Chicagoland the last week of April.  May is considered the prime month for warbler migration but they have been showing up a little earlier each year.  Here’s a couple of warbler pics from our members.

BlairBirder has Common Yellowthroat migrating through out in the state of Washington, too.  The Common Yellowthroat is my photography “spark” bird so it’s a favorite.

Anne Houle has been out and about photographing warblers.  First is the distinctive Wilson’s Warbler with its black cap.  We saw a couple of these in Costa Rica just a few weeks ago so they are on the move.

Finally, Anne Houle submitted a male Redstart – I saw my “first of the year” of this striking species just yesterday morning.
