South American Birds

Recently we’ve had three of our members posting bird photographs from Ecuador and two different areas of Argentina.  Considering it is about 20º right now in Chicagoland, it is spring time in South America.

Our first stop is Ecuador where John Weisgerber captured the moment this Crimsom-rumped Toucanet flipped a berry into its beak.

Jumping down to Argentina asteinmann went on a pelagic (boat) trip off the coast and captured this Southern Giant-petral in flight.

Paul Demkovich is on a birding tour in Argentina and took this picture of two Ashy-headed Geese in Ushuaia, which is about as far south as you can get.  Is he going continuing down to Antartica?  We’ll find out.
