Last week I posted the following two pictures and asked, “Which one is better?” Well it’s unanimous! The first pic with the Tighter Crop was preferred. All said that they liked the Tighter Crop because it focuses the viewer’s eye on the bird. Gurineb said it best: “It focuses on the bird. In the wider crop the second circle of blue is distracting. Part of the job of the artist/photographer is to control the movement of the eye, and you want the eye on the bird. The berries make a lovely frame.”
One reason why I was drawn to the Wider Crop (second Picture) was because it showed the berries above the bird, framing the entire bird with berries. But it is so busy with the colorful berries everywhere they detract from the House Finch.
Thanks to all who responded!

I like the second one best. Both are good.
