Judging the Reflections contest was made very difficult by having 85 excellent entries submitted. My brother Xwinger and I spent an evening going over every entry, discussed the merits of each, and tried to rank order them. In the end we kept going back to Emil Baumbach’s brilliant photograph of a Great Egret. We loved seeing more of it its head in the reflection than in the subject itself.
