Raindrops – Which One Is Better?

First off, thanks to all who submitted entries in the “Birds In The Rain” contest.  Xwinger and I are going over them and the winner will be announced in a week.

As I previously mentioned one reason why I went with the “Birds In The Rain” theme is that I came back from Ecuador with several pics that showed the raindrops streaking down on and around the bird.  Here are two pictures of a Tropical Kingbird in the rain.  The pics are almost identical but I like the first one better – can you see why?

Pic 2)

Did you see the difference?  In Pic 1 a couple of raindrops have bounced off the back of the bird and can be seen parallel to the bird’s back.  A subtle difference, but one that makes that picture just a little bit more interesting than Pic 2.  It’s these little differences that can elevate the quality of a bird photograph.
