Two Males and One Female of…

While scanning for a King Eider in the channel between St. Joesph and Benton Harbor I spotted this trio of waterfowl.  At the top is a male American Black Duck and below is a male  (R) and female (L) Mallard.  Its distinction as a male is due to the yellow-green bill.  Although the perspective of the shot makes them look about the same size the Black Duck is in fact somewhat larger than the Mallards.
