This Eastern Towhee is a beautiful bird – note the red eyes and the white tail feathers on its fanned out tail. The rusty sides are close to the color of a Robin’s breast so you have to look closely when you see that color to know which bird it is on. Its name is derived from its call – “Tow-wheeee”.
