This Common Hill Myna has those strange yellow wattles coming off of the side of its head (a wattle is a fleshy protuberance – our turkeys have wattles that hang down from their necks). These birds are very vocal, producing a wide variety of sounds. Their population in a also threatened because it is a poplular commodity in the wild bird trade.
