I was scanning a group of Canada Geese floating on the other side of the lake when I saw a white blob among the swimming brown and off-white birds. I was on my way out but decided to get a closer look so I walked to the other side of the lake and found that the white blob was the head of a dark morph Snow Goose. The Snow Goose comes in “white” and “dark” morphs – the white morph adult is almost entirely white whereas the dark morph has a dark body and white head. If you look closely you can see right through the middle of the bill.
