I was able to call this Black-billed Cuckoo out of the trees by making a Click-Click-Click-Click sound with the side of my tongue. Kind of like the sound that a cowboy makes when he says “Giddy-up”.

Beautiful shot! The red eye on this bird is so striking and you got a great capture of it. I saw one of these for the first time just a few weeks ago, but it never came out from behind the branches. I will have to try your trick if I see one again.
