Let the Chips Fall

This Black-backed Woodpecker worked tirelessly on the same Tamarack tree for over 30 minutes, providing us with great viewing opportunities.  It was peeling the bark off the tree (which you can see flying off) in search of insects.  The yellow cap denotes it is a male.
