My Thai roommate Joe was taking us through “his” birding area, Springbrook, and explained to us that the Willow Flycatcher is usually found out in open areas. The Alder Flycatcher is almost identical, but prefers wooded habit. They are usually differentiated by their song.

Love this bird. and I love the soft lighting of this photo. I recently learned to recognize the call “fitz bew” when I spotted one a few weeks ago.
