Most warblers aren’t as colorful in the fall as they are in the spring. In the spring the males put on their bright colors to attract a female but by fall those colors have mostly been replaced by their non-breeding plumage. This Yellow-rumped Warbler is still quite colorful, though. The folded wings cover the yellow patch on its rump.
