House Finch

House Finches

Viewed 40 Times

A mated pair of House Finch (Carpodacus mexicanus) in a Cedar tree. The male (the bottom bird) is an orange morph. House finches can range in colour from yellow to red. The orange is not common.

I really like pics with both the male and female, like your House Finch pic. I’ve tried to get two birds near each other (like in this pic) in focus at the same time and have been unsuccessful. Recently I received this video from Steve Perry at Backcountry Gallery where he shows how to accomplish this using Photoshop. It appears you use PS on occasion so perhaps you can make use of his suggested technique. I rarely use PS (time constrains usually) but if the right situation comes up I’ll give this a try. Here’s the site: Multiple Animals Sharp

Sorry but I could’t embed the link in the message. Go to backcountrygallery.com and look for Game Changer – Keep Multiple Animals Sharp a the same time. I get some really good tips from Steve Perry there – you might want to consider signing up for his emails.

I didn’t realize there was an orange morph. Beautiful picture.
