Eurasian Collared-Dove

A Pair of Doves

Viewed 12 Times

A mated pair of Eurasian Collared Doves (Streptopelia decaocto) perched in the Norway Maple tree.
These Doves have been quite common in this area over the past few years. They are believed to have originated from birds that escaped from captivity as they are not from this area. They have adapted quite well to our climate.

Nice shot of the pair of doves! You can clearly see the “collar” on them. And to have them in your backyard regularly is wonderful. Thanks for including the interesting description.
