Last winter this female cardinal found the peanut feeder I put on my balcony rail. While it was covered with snow that morning, she still managed to find one. I love how the female’s chunky red beak really stands out.

I find it fascinating that some birds can tolerate our harsh winters. I really like this shot in the snow of the Cardinal.
