The first time I saw a Chestnut-sided Warbler was in my yard in the spring of 2019. I snapped a photo but it was so far away I could just barely make out what it was and I thought it looked like a yellow-haired lady with mascara running down her face. This year I got some much better looks at them in the woods and I found them fairly easy to photograph especially on cold days like this one where they were foraging close to the river’s surface.

A bit different indeed! I kinda like the wet look!
