Beautiful bird, great picture!
Thanks Leegramas.
Very nice. Tough bird to get exposure correct on in my experience. Did this one have the yellow patches on its back or was the red blown in these areas? I have more problems with bright red than white when I am trying to prevent blown highlights.
Hi Bajadreamer,
There are no blown out areas on this bird. The yellow and white are molting areas on this bird. I agree with you, this bright red bird is tough to photograph because blown out color is a common problem. I usually adjust my exposure compensation to -2/3 and try to shoot on an angle so my sensor does not get a direct reflection. I hope this is helpful.
