One of two species of ground-hornbills. These birds are characterized by the vivid red patches of bald skin on their face and throat. They are large birds, standing about 3 feet high and weighing around 10 pounds. They inhabit woodlands and savanna and are carnivorous in nature. Their lifespan can exceed 50 years. This is a vulnerable species.

Great birds! Look like they were put together by a committee. Difficult for me to get pictures of birds on the ground as grass, etc, always seems to be in the way. You did a good job of getting most of the legs clear.
