Mike, you may have to correct me on this species. I think it is an immature male Orchard Oriole but I am not the best at identifying birds that are not common to my area. Being that I think it is a juvenile, it must have raised in this area.

You have the ID exactly right. The clues it was an oriole: blue feet and bill. Vireos are the other major group of birds with blue feet. Its coloration is the same as a female except for the black face, extending onto the throat. According to Sibley’s bird guide that black indicates it’s a First Winter male. Also, if you had narrowed it down to Oriole but didn’t know which one, according to Sibley’s only the Orchard and Baltimore are commonly found in North Carolina. That flower bud you mentioned in the right bottom corner is a small pear. That pear tree is a bird magnet as you have seen from other posts of mine.
Beautiful bird. Just the smallest hint of the orange color that will be coming with age.
