This first winter King Eider is the fourth Ottawa County, Michigan record. It was located by four out of county birders on the evening of March 8th at the North Pier at Grand Haven State Park. We were lucky to see it in the wavy conditions on March 9th. We went back on March 11th hoping for closer views and some photo ops. It was semi-close to the south pier at Grand Haven State Park. This bird was a county first for us!
