We were on a birding vacation in Ecuador. We walked through a farmer’s pasture that had lots of slippery red clay and hills. After arriving at the lookout spot, we soon saw this bird. We watched it for quite some time. This farmer realized he could make more money than cattle raising allowing birders on his property. The farmer still has some cattle. He lead our group to this bird’s location.

Took me a minute to realize its head is looking down. Sounds like a fun trip and the farmer got into eco-tourism!
