I have just started processing our images from our December trip to Viet Nam. Absolutely an incredible country to visit, both from a traditional “tourist” point of view and from a bird photographer’s point of view. We started the trip in Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) and then traveled to where Deb took this image in the far south of the country, near the Mekong Delta.
This is another bird that lives up to its name-Asian Green Bee-eater. Bee-eaters are a widespread family of birds with many species, but they all are very colorful, animated (catching bees and other insects in the air, and then tossing them into the air and catching them to swallow), and often social.
Deb took this shot (the proverbial “bird on a stick”) from a boat in Tram Chin National Park.
