Orange-fronted Parakeet Kakariki

This was my first sighting of this bird. They were released in this sanctuary to establish the numbers and this has been a huge success. they have been breeding over the last 5 years and most of the chicks have survived due to strict predator control. They can be seen at the top of the sanctuary which involves climbing a very steep track for over 2 hours.
