Red-headed Barbet

Common but colorful

Viewed 10 Times

This is a Red-headed Barbet, a very common bird of Central and South America. Both the male (pictured here) and the female are beautiful, very vocal, common, usually accommodating for photographers, and distinct enough to the perfect icon for bird photography in the Neotropics. This particular bird was shot in Colombia.
