Even with modern cameras and their amazing ability to focus, catching birds in flight can be a challenge. This shot, a Jackdaw, was taken in Spain. At this location there were many raptors; they often are relatively easy to catch in flight as you often see them coming from a long ways off and can get focused on them as they approach. This bird is not so easy. They tend to hop and fly around the perches. Often they are not in the air (at least in front of me) very long. This is about the best I could do on this day. I wanted a shot that showed these birds are not solid black, but have the grey body. Jackdaws act much like our NA Crows. They are bullies, will eat anything and often travel in small flocks.
Cropped about 50% from top, R and L.
