Hoatzin

What strange birds Hoatzins are! They eat poisonous plants and have a digestive system that neutralizes and breaks these down. They build their nests over the water and if a predator threatens, the chick jump out of the nest and into the water to avoid being eaten, then the chick climb back up to their nests after the danger has passed. They were quite common around the Sacha Lodge, were very attractive and seemed comical.
