This bird was photographed NE of Sao Paulo Brazil in the Atlantic Rainforest of Brazil. The mountains that form this rainforest are isolated from other mountain ranges in South America by the Amazon River basin, so these birds have evolved totally different than many of the other birds that are seen throughout SA. Truly a “tanager paradise”.
