Lesser Prairie-chicken

Have you been to a Prairie Chicken lek? It’s a fabulous experience! The birds were once wide-spread but are now very limited and hard to find. The viewing experience includes entering a blind before sunrise and waiting for the birds – bundle up! Males arrive first and display back and forth for each other – they are heard before there is enough light to see them! The Lesser Prairie-chickens are smaller than the Greater Prairie-chickens, but are just as loud and active!
