Red-cockaded Woodpecker

With effort, we are able to find Red Cockaded Woodpeckers in pine woods near Naples, FL. This one was among several seen in the Jones State Forest in Texas, which is at the western-most part of their range. The birds ignored us and tapped away at dried sap and bark while moving from tree to tree.
