This image is a poor one technically (cropped about 95% and poor lighting) but how can you not love the pose. Walking from one lily pad to another, this Northern Jacana chick, was actually running from its mother who is the background chasing it. The chick had ventured too far out in the open and was quickly becoming “hawk bait”. Fortunately no hawks were within sight so the chick safely made it back to cover.
