After taking a month off from birding and photography, I decided it was time to get back in the saddle. I stopped at a local forest preserve and found a few males Dickcissels trying to attract some ladies. A female did respond to this male Dickcissel’s singing and actually had nesting material in her beak. Fingers crossed

I think I like this shot of the Dickcissel even more than the one you posted later – again all the vegetation around it enhances the photograph.
