The Ibis family of birds is widespread with most having beautiful plumage. Often interesting to watch, they use their long curved beaks to probe into the mud or vegetation searching for just about anything to eat. Although we usually associate these birds with the seashore or lake shore, they are often found in fields looking for insects, etc. This member of the family is, IMO, the most beautiful and striking. This is the national bird of Trinidad and Tobago. A Scarlet Ibis roosting.

I wonder what mother nature had in mind with that beautiful bright red?
