This certainly isn’t the kind of flight shot you can normally anticipate, but for the second week in a row I just happened to be in the right place at the right time. Like the previous week, I assumed when the female Red-shouldered Hawk leaned forward it was because she was about to takeoff. Again, like the previous week, the male Hawk swooped in. Not the flight shot I sought, but I’ll take it.

I love the detail on the male Red Shouldered Hawk’s back. The red shoulders really are very obvious.
