This Rufous Hummingbird showed up at a birder’s home near Hudsonville, Michigan. He invited the three of us in and opened up his kitchen window. This was an excellent viewpoint as we were not out in the open and we were able to take photos via an open window. I took approximately 400 photos. Why? In order to correctly identify this bird we had to obtain photos of the tail. We eBird all of our bird sightings making this an important detail plus we wanted to make sure it was a Rufous Hummingbird. I was able to get some tail photos so this hummingbird was positively identified.
