Among my favorite subjects, Kinglets are challenging to photograph. They are a test of patience and skill which means there are not many keepers. If it wasn’t for the crown displayed on this Kinglet, I might not have kept this image on account of it being partially obscured. But, if there is a contest for partially obscured images? This would appear an appropriate entry.

The Ruby-crowned Kinglet shot was an Honorable Mention in the Obscured Bird Contest. The judges recognized the difficult of obtaining a shot of a kinglet, particularly one that was displaying its red crown.
