This Sandhill Crane gave me a beautiful profile shot against a sweet layered background. I always try to get the sweeping S curve in the neck instead of the straight neck look. The one interesting part of this bird was his ultra deep orange/red eye. Most Sandhills I’ve seen don’t have eye color this dark. There is also some unique white feathering on the beginning of his clean bill.
