For my 25 years with the company I worked for, they gave me free airplane tickets to anywhere in the continental U.S. and some cash. We had never been to Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge and wanted to go after we saw a program presented for Holland Audubon. We were lucky to have good weather and watched the Sandhill Cranes come in to eat and roost for the night and the next morning we arrived early at Bosque and watched them fly off for the day. The day ended in a spectacular sunset.

I like the silhouettes of the Sandhills. Not sure about your comments about not having any shots of them feeding – sure looks like they are all feeding in this pic with their heads underwater.
