One of the decisions I commonly face is the crop aspect ratio. This bird, a Toucan Barbet, is not a large bird, but it is long-from tip of tail to tip of beak. When it is perched horizontally like this, it takes up a large per centage of the horizontal frame. To try to get more frame in front of the bird than behind, I end up with uncommon aspects, like 16:9 which this image is, and/or the tip of the tail is too close to the edge of the frame.
