One of my “bucket list” photos was to try and get a photo of a Barred Owl, eye level, looking towards my direction. I was able to cross that photo off my list last week. A Belted Kingfisher was rattling and flying back and forth along a creek, perching on different branch’s along the way. I found a spot, not too far from a “good” perch and waited for the Kingfisher. A few moments later, this Barred Owl swooped down and landed on a small tree across the creek. He looked at me as I stood there in awe. I finally got an hold of myself and took my shot. He flew to another tree not too far and I soon realized this was his stomping grounds. I grabbed my camera, thanked him and left the area. I never did get my photo of the Belted Kingfisher.
