A very tragic ending to a legendary Chicago tale. It seems that the days of Monty and Rose have came to an end. Monty tragically died yesterday afternoon on Montrose Beach, and Rose is presumably dead as well, as she hasn’t been seen in Florida (wintering ground) or Chicago (breeding grounds).

I know many people have enjoyed photographing the Montrose Piping Plovers over the years so I wanted to get this message out.
