This bird was reported in Waukegan and many birders jumped on the sighting to observe this beautiful and large shorebird. The bird stayed in a flooded open field and ate almost nonstop on worms and grubs. As so many birders lamented, its a shame we don’t have more habitat for these migrating birds along the lakefront.
