Depending where I am when I take a photo, sometimes, in my opinion, my photos are a bit dark. I use photoshop to lighten them up. When I looked at this photo on my computer, I thought it was too dark and was going to lighten it up. But then I thought about it and decided that the low light made the atmosphere just right for this kind of bird.

I agree that the darkness works in the Grackle picture. I wonder if bumping up the Shadows adjustment would retain the darkness overall but give a little more definition to the feathers on the back?
