There currently is a large group of Trumpeter Swans on the Des Plaines River near the Barrow Pit. They have been there for several weeks and seen by many birders. I have counted at least 9 individuals including at least 2 immature birds. In this case there were 2 adults and 2 young together although only 3 birds got in this photo.

You were lucky to get a clear shot of the Trumpeter Swans there – most of the time I see them they are hidden by the bushes or fence.
