Warbler migration is just about done here in Chicagoland; they’ve made their way up to their Canadian breeding grounds by now. Our memories of these colorful birds are rekindled by the photographs they left behind.
LinLark found out that the Magnolia Warbler is so named because it was first identified by Alexander Wilson as one sat in a magnolia tree!
Anne Houle spotted a Black and White Warbler at Montrose Point (Chicago). I was with her just yesterday when we spotted one in Naperville, IL – one of the last sightings of a migrating warbler we’ll probably get this spring.
A Cerulean Warbler’s blue coloring really catches the eye. Ronald Zigler caught this one on Pumpkin Hill Road in Connecticut.
