Members’ Bird Photography Showcase – 10/30/24

Let’s dip into the Latest Pics and see what our members are sharing:

I went to Sibley Guide To Birds after looking at this shot by Kaur of a couple of Northern Shovelers because the head appears black.  It turns out these birds have a black head in the fall, and then they turn to green (which I am more accustomed to) in mating season (December – March).

The light flows through the eyes of this Broad-winged Hawk submitted by Paul Demkovich.  Well done!

Bajadreamer notes that he doesn’t usually care for BIF shots but had to share this one showing the top of an Egyptian Vulture.  Taken in the Pyrenees Mountains in Spain.

Gurineb doesn’t share a lot of pics so I was pleased to see this one of a female Mallard standing in water.  I liked seeing the feet beneath the water as it posed for her.

I feel like I should save this Cuban Trogan for the Fourth of July – Red, White, and Blue!  Thanks to Paul Demkovich for bringing this shot back from Cuba.
