Welcome to another edition Members’ Showcase! Seeing how it is frickin’ fridged outside here in Chicagoland here are some pics of birds that don’t seem to mind the cold weather:
Perhaps the best example of cold weather birds is the Snowy Owl. These beautiful birds breed in the Arctic and come down “south” to the northern United States during the winter. Our mikeaff was up in Duluth, Minnesota and saw this one perched up in a tree. Good image, considering the gray sky and white background!
Burning Nature Photography captured this White-throated Sparrow with big snowflakes falling. A beautiful pic!
Finally, Birdygirl captured these Canada Geese relaxing on a sheet of ice up in Wisconsin. Just looking at them makes me want to put another layer of clothes on!
