I met Paul Demkovich and his wife on our Newfoundland and Nova Scotia birding trip a few months ago and invited him to check out GreatBirdPics.com. He has jumped in with both feet and has now posted 456 bird photographs in just the past couple months. He has been to some exotic places to see beautiful birds so I thought I would feature some of my favorite shots of his from Ecuador. If you would like to browse all of his shots Click Here.
We’ll start with a very striking one, a Ringed Kingfisher.
Here’s a shot of a group of Many-banded Aracari feeding in a hollow log.
Wow! Here’s brightly colored Lemon-throated Barbet.
This Great-billed Hermit is a type of hummingbird. Its beak is specially formed to reach deep into the heart of tropical flowers.
We end this peek into Paul’s collection of beautiful bird shots from Ecuador with this Gilded Barbet. You might recall that the word “gilded” means streaked in gold, and this bird certainly displays that.
Thanks to Paul and all of our GreatBirdPics members for sharing their bird pics from near and far.
