Most pictures of birds include the entire bird, unless the photographer would like to highlight just part of the bird – as in the closeup. Today we feature some photographs from our members that zoom in on the bird to varying degrees.
We’ll start large with Rigloca’s tack-sharp photograph of a Brown Pelican. I was recently in the U.S. Virgin Islands and took hundreds of Brown Pelican shots and none of them turned out this good! GreatBirdPic, Rigloca!
Bider2011 was recently in Arizona where she photographed this Painted Redstart. I love the detail in this shot – notice the white band below the eye and how bright red the breast is. Congrats!
Finally a Pileated Woodpecker closeup from Paul Demkovich. He actually shared four shots of the same bird with each one a little more zoomed in – this was the most zoomed in so we can see a lot of detail. Thanks for all four, Paul!
