How He Got The Shot
I really enjoy it when our members share with us how they were able to capture a GreatBirdPic. Recently Osprey60 did just that. His picture of a Northern Rough-winged Swallow shows the bird all puffed out (cold morning?) and has great detail and a wonderfully colorful background.
Here’s his narrative on how he got the shot:
The background colors of blue, green, and, yellow are what make this image pop for me. The bird was very cooperative in the field, allowing me to reposition and try out a number of different backgrounds before settling on this one I liked. As this swallow was slightly above eye level, I actually ended up holding the camera above my head and used the flip screen to take the image to get an eye-level perspective.
A great way to use the camera’s screen to get the shot on the level of the bird instead of from below it. Thanks for sharing your technique with us Osprey60!
